PRAYER & PRAISE

(* denotes an update)

Please remember the following in your prayers...

*Work on our driveway and parking lot is on schedule and going well. But, as with most projects there are always unexpected challenges. We had one this past week:

Last Sunday night, someone took a crowbar to the storage locker that is temporarily holding all of our outdoor maintenance equipment. This is the equipment that used to be stored in the two sheds located on the North side of the parking lot. The irony is that you probably could have knocked over those sheds with a strong breeze and accessed the contents at any time. Nevertheless, the thieves made off with all of our lawnmowers, trimmers, and groundskeeping equipment. The Police have been notified and we will be following up with our insurance provider.

We invite you to join us in praying for this situation. And we also want you to know that we may be incurring some additional costs to replace the equipment that has been stolen.

*INDIA - In Odisha, A., a new Christian, was executed for becoming a Christian. Odisha has an anti-conversion law, so a Hindu mob took advantage of this law to commit murder. Pray for the Lord to strengthen the Christians in India as they face the dangers of this law.

Pray for JERUSALEM
Ps 147:12 - "Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem; Praise your God, O Zion"
The scriptures enjoin us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. This week, set aside a few moments to pray for the people of Israel:
"Heavenly Father, You are Mighty and You are Holy, worthy of all our praises. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for your continuing watchful care over your people Israel. May those who love you be blessed & may those who do not know you yet open their hearts to you.  In Jesus' precious and mighty name, I pray. Amen."

This is the plea of persecuted Christians around the world. Today around the world over 200 million are suffering for their faith in Jesus Christ. Each year, Canadians join with Christians in over 130 countries to stand in prayer with our suffering sisters and brothers for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).

Persecuted Church – Did you know?

An estimated 100 million Christians are murdered, assaulted, raped, tortured, beaten, abducted, forced to flee as internal, and external refugees.
Many Christians are forced to be secret believers, unable to declare their faith openly, and cannot get help from churches because their presence will jeopardize the safety of churches.
Persecution is growing and expanding in Africa, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela and Peru.
Christian radio stations like Trans World Radio, HCJB Global Radio, and Far Eastern Broadcasting Association beam into persecuting areas to encourage secret believers.
Persecuted Christians face job discrimination, and lose educational opportunities.
